Honda CR-V vs. Ford Escape, which one to buy?
My husband and I are looking into buying an SUV for two reasons…the first is because we live in Connecticut and need something with four wheel drive or AWD and second is because we are trying to start a family and want something safe and reliable to tote our future children around in. Which of these SUV’s is the better choice for what we need?
On a side note, we would be getting either one used, probably an 05 or 06 as our max budget is 15k.

Chuckles, I’m not sure where you have driven in Connecticut but a Ford Focus wouldn’t even make it out of my driveway in the winter here. I have lived in CT. my entire life (27 years) and yes, you do need 4WD or AWD. We get a lot of snow and ice and that’s not even taking into account the hills, especially in the area where I live.
Honda is the most reliable brand in car department. My dad has bought mostly all Honda’s in his life. The one time he didn’t, he got a ford and it started to have problems at 100,000 miles so he sold it. Honda cars average 150,000 miles. My honda civic is currently at 179,000 and stil running fine. And Honda is one of the most reliable used cars if you looking for that, so go with the CRV. Plus it looks better, and has a better MPG. Hope this helps. Dont listen to that stupid commerical with the comparison to the CRV.
