Do waiters/waitresses prefer to be paid by cash or credit card?
I prefer to pay by credit card because I’m always afraid if I leave cash in the leather folder with the check someone will walk by and steal the money.
But do the servers have a preference in how they get their tips (i.e., cash vs. credit card?).

Cash! It’s under the table to the IRS so to speak. If someone pays by credit card, it’s in the POS system. For instance, I only had to report 8% of my sales for my tips, even if I made less or more. If my tips on the POS by credit card amounted to say, 40%, I’d have to report that on my taxes and my weekly check would have been less. Cash in the pocket is ‘invisible’ so to speak.
